Recent Achievements & Events

Attending this year's New London County Food Show  were Dakota, Valerie, Amanda H. and Jen.
 
Awarded at the 2003 County Awards Night:
county medal in citizenship:  Amanda H.
county medals in citizenship and public speaking:  Jen
 
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard at the fair!  Congratulations to everyone who exhibited, especially Dakota, who was the high points winner!
 
Jen spent a week in Washington DC with 4H Citizenship Washington Focus.
 
Valerie, Amanda H. and Jen attended 4H Citizenship Day at the Capitol in Hartford in April.
 
Congratulations to Amanda H. and Jen, who have been selected as 4H Teen Ambassadors for the 2003 year.
 
Congratulations to Jen, who is the 2003 CT state 4H public speaking champion.
 
Congratulations to Dakota, Amanda H. and Jen, who all placed in their respective classes at the Southern New England Poultry Show.  A special congratulations to Amanda, who placed 4th (out of 20!) despite having the world's most uncooperative bird.
 
Congratulations to Dakota, Val, Amanda H. and Jen, who all did great jobs at the New London County Public Speaking Finals.  An additional congratulations to Jen, who was named the winning senior speaker, and will go on to represent New London County in the state finals in April.
 
Our local public speaking contest is over.  Congratulations to the winners:  Amanda H & Jen (senior speakers), Val (junior speaker) and Dakota (junior demonstrator).  Congratulations also to Dakota for winning the Best Novice award. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially to Mrs. L. & Amanda H. for judging.

If anyone would like to make a Project Linus quilt at home, please let me know and I will give you the instructions and materials.  Remember, Project Linus was YOUR idea.  Many thanks to Val, who has been making some blankets on her own.
